Flower Love
The veranda, the basic design element, follows the original path in the garden, and the central hotel lobby is transformed into a tea house. The former canopies are replaced and extended into a closed loop with the teahouse as the start and also the end point for the path. The porch floats away from the garden’s stone and plants, creating a sensitive landscape with “really dense, different views, full of twists and turns”.
The porch is constructed of light steel construction. Thin pillars, rear beams and the ground are coated with dark gray fluorocarbon paint. The same color hides the material properties and creates a cruise line beyond the material perception. The porch flows away from the yard’s water, rock and plants, creating a garden landscape with “really dense, different views, full of twists and turns”. Considering the different landscape of rock parts and plantings along the path, the veranda is enlarged in some places to form resting nodes, which provides “in-motion view” and “in-position view” over the courtyard, and also turns into an ornamental plant.
