If you’ve seen a picture of an apartment, chances are you’ve seen the same over and over again. The apartment has a slightly different design each time, but it is generally the same around the world. Soft white light and pale colors, if there are any colors at all, dominate what is seen.
Moon Box is a project that takes the apartment away from the simple and drab nature that too many designers have exaggerated and brings something different into the home. Completed by Denis Rakaev and located in Kiev, Ukraine, this futuristic apartment moves away from the monochromatic soft paint, subtly sharing the pattern.
When separating the kitchen from the dining room and living room, walls are generally used that actually take up some living space. Instead, the use of color in the different rooms and along the walls separates the three rooms and creates a unique appearance. The apartment contains all the amenities of another place and brings it all together into one cozy space that is perfect for a small family.
It’s the different lighting and the way every inch of space has been used to be functional and creative. This apartment building is soft and gentle, but stands out in a way that makes you feel like you’re on a large spaceship. Even the large bathroom is a great place to relax, while the bedroom can serve as a work area if necessary.
