A three-way indicator light has a rotary switch with four positions which in combination with specially designed lamps can be switched between the lamp’s lighting in light, moderate and weak levels relatively. If the lamp does not work, it is important to rule out the problems with the plug, cord, socket, and bulb before replacing the three-way switch. Although its replacement is cheap and can be easily done by homeowners. This provides a step by step guide to repairing a three way switch of a 3 way light bulb –
Step 1 –
Remove the lamp power cord and separate the bulb, lamp shade, and monitor mounting rod.
Step 2 –
A small screwdriver of small size slides in the middle of the bottom socket and the base. Now with gentle pressure, place the base away from the socket. Lift the base from the socket as far as the cable allows from the internal cable. Uncover the connecting cables by sliding the tube box away from the bottom of the lamp.
Step 3 –
Disconnect the two wires by unscrewing the connections.
Step 4 –
Remove the old device. For this rotation, the base disconnects the display mounting rod.
Step 5 –
On the threaded rod, now start threading the new prepared unit. For the color-coded – contact the two colored wires correctly and complete the circuit by tightening the screws. Now by sliding the piece of cardboard above the connected cable, press the base lightly and smoothly into the socket and lock it in place.
