My living room has light yellow walls. After painting the walls yellow, I wondered what would look appealing when family and guests came over.
Brown immediately came to mind. I first thought of dark brown wooden frames with pictures of my favorite artist, Georgia O’Keeffe, scattered all over my walls, bringing them to life. Home Depot was my goal. You had plenty of options to choose between redwood and white, but the dark wood went well with my pale yellow walls in the living room.
Wall lamps are great for decorating light yellow living room walls. The stone-like statues contrast well with my light yellow walls. The Windstone Editions website had plenty of well-designed wall lights like dragons, gargoyles, cats, lions, owls, mermaids, and wolves that hung properly on the walls of my living room.
I love the Leaf Cat Sconce-Autumn Leaf because if its craftsmanship and colors are incorporated into the statue to make it stand out, the color will not match the walls. The owl lamp will match my yellow walls because of the animal’s vintage texture.
Built-in shelves are another great addition to flatter walls and turn my house into a home. Books and family pictures are my favorite accessories to decorate bright yellow living room walls. The wooden shelves should match the dark brown wooden frames to bring the entire room together as a cohesive space.
All light yellow living room walls are different, but it’s important to consider what goes with the color yellow and what doesn’t work with that particular color.
