Curtain rod shapes and designs

Everyone loves the scene of window or a door covered with a curtain, it has a beauty that no one can deny. Many artists have used this particular scene in many paintings, and they were huge success and fame. Curtains are usually put on a window to prevent light whenever it is not needed, sometimes they are put there to break down the wind if it is too strong to be handled. The main idea here is that the curtain must be flexible, and the only thing that makes this possible is its curtain rod.

Before the curtain rod was created, people used to nail down their curtains to the door or window frame. That would make the curtain semi-permanent, and it would not be easy to move it if needed. So it was the invention of the rod, where curtains can move freely to close or open the window or the door that it covers. This invention induced many other accessories like: rail, hooks and curtain rings. All of them are used for one purpose, to make the curtain move more freely.

There is no preferred material in making a curtain rod, each material has its own special feature. Materials vary from metal, stainless steel, plastic and wood. Each material suits a certain scenario better than the other, like if you live in a humid place; it is not recommended to get a metal or a wood pole. So there can be no better material unless you ask a few questions, like where you live and what your decoration looks like.

The rod itself has no special design, the main decorative part is its two ends; where you can have many pieces to add the decorative look you want. Any curtain rod can have these pieces applied to it, and these end pieces come in many shapes. From wood to crystal balls and many others, there are countless designs to suit any taste and decoration. You can choose them yourself, or you can consult an interior designer to get you the best ones.
