Americans are very different in the way they design their homes, and design is an expression of their personality. It is a fact that what one person would call cluttered would call another beautiful, but contemporary interior design is a style that is intentionally moving towards minimalism.
The contemporary interior design features open spaces, minimal accessories, and neutral colors to give the space a clean, pinned look. Accessories are often angular and do not have elaborate designs, but contain monochrome or tiny prints.
Often times, modern-style rooms do not contain carpets or window curtains. They should look smooth, clean and polished and offer plenty of airy space. Rooms with cathedral ceilings lend themselves easily to contemporary interior design.
Since the accessories are minimal, the accessories included in the room make a bold statement. However, contemporary interior design is more about the space and space than the accessories. While not everyone would be comfortable in a contemporary design, its utter simplicity makes it an attractive choice.
