A lamp usually produces light from electricity and is known as a replaceable component. Lamps that are compact are called light bulbs. Wall lamps are lamps that are hung on walls. Usually, these contemporary wall lamps have an elegant and streamlined design that differs from the ornate design. Basically, these modern lamps are very simple and the design and layout is not at all complicated. Most modern wall lamps are polished in light silver color and the material used in the manufacture is metal.
Transitional is another common type of wall lamp. It is actually a mixture of both the traditional and the modern wall lamp. It is neither so simple nor so complicated, it is somewhere in between and that is why it is so much preferred nowadays because it can give people both a traditional touch and a modern touch.

Nowadays, there is a wall lamp in a wide range of different styles and lighting designs. Some of the modern types include: downlight that directs the light downwards, backlight that is exactly the opposite of downlight, backlight that is a mixture of both, a swing arm lamp that is adjustable, plug-in swing arm and many more.
