This Carla Ridge home is located in Trousdale, a neighborhood in Beverly Hills McClean design The challenge in designing a home in Trousdale is to build without disrupting the existing slopes. The main problem for the designers was how to maximize the light in the lower level of the house. McClean Design ingeniously solved the problem by building the house around a central courtyard with a mature olive tree.
Every element in this Carla Ridge home has been carefully designed to keep the natural flow of light unobstructed right through to the floating staircase and floor to ceiling glass walls and doors on all sides of the upper level of the home. The rooms in the basement draw their light from the inner courtyard.
In the open upper level – the main living area of the house – one room flows smoothly into the next. The main feature of this floor is a massive pool terrace with a large lounge area. The infinity pool appears to fall over the outer lip of the house and offers breathtaking, unobstructed views of the city.
The large upstairs kitchen is a remarkable example of contemporary design. It is characterized by clean, clean lines, with the main units neatly nested in gray cabinets on either side of the open space. Two massive islands with a strongly contrasting wood finish serve as the main work surfaces and still offer the chefs space to meet while preparing meals.
This modern luxury home in Carla Ridge indeed offers the best of contemporary design.
