Adrian Tan commissioned designer Aamer to design a large bungalow-style house for him on his property in 2001.
The designed house won the prestigious Singapore Institute of Design Award in 2004. A few years later, Mr. Adrian Tan acquired the adjacent property with the intention of building new houses for his adult sons.
The intention in the beginning was certainly to build a new house that was similar in structure and design to the previous house with similar courtyard gardens and koi ponds. Of course, the grown sons had their own ideas about home design.
Their intention was to design a home with more space and privacy. New features include a porch terrace, private entrance, rooftop entertainment area and pool garden.
The designer built the homes from natural materials such as wood, marble, and granite that matched the natural gardens on the property. Of course, lush gardens and greenery outdoors are an important part of the overall design for the owner.
Creepers have been added to the garden grilles that extend to the rooftop entertainment area. Even the indoor pools open up to lush outdoor gardens filled with flora, fauna, birds, and butterflies.
