Creating a zen interior design

Take a moment and imagine that you could have a zen room in your own home where you can meditate, read, or just have some time to yourself. Better yet, what if you could create your own zen room?

Asians usually like to sit on the floor without using a lot of furniture. This can be the perfect model for your space. Being able to have such a space can be very healing in the long run. Here are some great zen interior design suggestions that can help you create your own space.

It is important to note, however, that not all rooms are shaped similarly. The best example we’ll use in this case is a more traditional American-sized bedroom. This room is more rectangular in shape and contains a window and closet.

One of the most common enemies of good general health is stress. This can lead to depression, weight gain, and many other problems. We all know that it can be difficult to control stress in public settings. Hence, it is best to start the process at home.

Create your own zen paradise

Take a moment and imagine your desk is completely free and uncluttered, with the exception of your computer, keyboard, mouse, monitor, phone, inbox, and even a photo of a loved one. Imagine your walls have no clutter, except maybe a photo or two of calm and earth-like scenes.

Here are five great zen decorating ideas to get you started!

Different smells

Smells have always evoked different emotions and allowed us to center ourselves and manifest more balanced spirits. Of course, there are many different fragrances that you can choose from; However, you should go for something that is much more calming than livening up your particular space.

There are some scents like Ylang Ylang that are known to bring balance and tranquility indoors and outdoors. These fragrances can be used with oil burners, candles, and fresh flowers.

Different sounds

There are several sound options that can also help you stay calm, such as: B. chimes, water fountains and music. In addition, you can also create your own music playlist and use it as a timer. If you really want to immerse yourself in a more peaceful state, consider playing songs that are around 20 to 30 minutes long as this allows you to relax to the beat of the music without having to worry about a transition.

Since you will likely be using an iPod or other MP3 player for this task, it is best to keep this object out of sight so as not to disrupt your entire visual space or other Zen home decor.

The taste of tea

Tea has long been linked to healing, and there is a good reason why it actually works. There are also many different types of tea with different soothing and healing properties. So take the time to try different ones to see which types will appeal to you the most. If there is a pharmacy near you, ask them to create a special type of tea just for you. One of the most common ingredients in tea, known for its calming properties, is chicory root.

However, there are some people who prefer not to drink tea as they may not like the taste. In such cases, you should prepare a homemade drink with the following ingredients:

Soak these ingredients in water for about two hours for a refreshing and invigorating drink.

Use earthy colors

Zen-inspired designs use more natural colors. These colors include the following:

  • Gray
  • White
  • Shades of beige
  • Shades of pink beige

All of these colors can evoke a sense of calm and relaxation. It is also important to maintain a sense of harmony between all of the different elements in a Zen inspired space.

If you want to add contour to a more monochrome room, consider combining a dominant color with matching objects and textured fabrics such as beige with rosewood or white with moleskin. You can also combine two matching colors or play around with different versions of your favorite color to keep a sense of variety.

Keep a source of softness at your feet

A safe flooring choice is usually parquet, in addition to other types of large hardwood floors. If this parquet is colored in white, gray or a lighter color, it can appear more sophisticated. However, you can opt for a more colored version as long as it matches the rest of the room.

Another way of convenient finishing your floor can be resin, especially for a more modern or loft-like setting. Wool rugs can also be a wonderful feeling of comfort. However, this is an option that also requires a lot of maintenance.

When deciding on a rug, you can refine your zen look by choosing multiple rugs made from pure cotton or wool, whichever you prefer. Regardless of your choice, it is important that you make sure that the color of the carpet matches the color of the floor.

Keep all of your furniture pieces as simple and natural as possible

Zen-style furniture focuses on clean and simple lines rather than details and embellishments that are more intricate in nature. Storage items can be painted to match the rest of the interior. Regarding the bedroom, here are some recommendations that you can write down for that room:

Place your bed near a source of natural light and make sure it is not in front of a door or a walkway. Make sure the bed is a comfortable height and the headboard is either leather, upholstery, or patchwork.

Keep decorations for your bed to a minimum. Covers and / or throws should be made of either fleece, mohair or wool. You should also never overdo it with pillows. Instead, use pillows of different sizes and pillowcases that can be rearranged depending on your sleep or reading.

Don’t be afraid to use a bedside table in your bedroom as it is always a nice piece of zen decor. However, make sure that it blends in well with your design.

If you are implementing a reading nook, choose a simple armchair that has simple lines that go with the Zen decor.

Sensory engagement

One of the things that can really bring a huge presence to any zen room is a bonsai tree in a low pot. The shape of this little tree is not only inviting for thought, but also for a calmer state of mind. You can also create a more romantic mood by using lamps that incorporate rice paper shades.

If you can view a zen garden through a window or glass door, you can combine your master bedroom with the experience you would have in a traditional garden, so that you can use your bedroom to connect with nature.
