However, it is the rock crystal bathtubs created by Baldi Home Jewels that are among the main selling points, “The material for each tub is sourced from Brazil and shipped to Italy, where they are then carved. Hundreds of hours are spent grinding each tub to make it smooth on the inside, while the outside is intentionally left untouched in each to highlight the contrast between nature and workmanship,” according to Baldi.
The historic Florence, Italy company’s bathroom collections are well known for their use of such semi-precious and precious stones. They use such fine materials as; lapis lazuli, tiger’s eye, red jasper, aquamarine and marbles as well as malachite, amethyst and rock crystal along with precious metals such as gold and silver. Baldi is run by three family generations today led by its CEO Luca Baldi, son of Paolo Consani Baldi and Anna Ponziani. The company was founded in 1867 as the Florentine studio of the sculptor Vincenzo Consani. Italian company Devon & Devon provided the decadent bathroom fixtures that gave it a touch of European elegance.
Baldi previously sold a custom rock crystal bathtub to billionaire Tamara Ecclestone for $1,000,000. The three-person bathtub was sculpted with diamond cuts, while the partially rough edges of the tub enhanced the natural beauty of the living crystal. XXII Carat Villas will offer rose quartz, rock crystal and green quartz bathtubs with real gold details and precious stones.
